If you are logged in as a construction specialist, you have full administrator rights, unless you are with the "Other contacts," then your rights are limited. Can't access managing contacts and don't know who in your company can help you further when it comes to permissions? If so, please email us at support@12build.com.

Once you are logged into your account, on the left side in the menu, click on Company Profile > Contacts (see image below).

In this article, you will find the following topics:

  • Types of contacts

  • Adding and removing contacts

  • Send password

  • Open tasks

Types of contacts

We have three different types of contacts. All of these are allowed to log into the profile to view projects, submit bids and make adjustments. The difference is in visibility for general contractors.

  1. My Contacts - These contacts are visible to all general contractors and can receive quote requests. These contacts can change the company profile, manage contacts and view all projects.

  2. My hidden contacts - These contacts can log in, have all rights, but are not visible to main contractors. However, he or she can be automatically put in the CC so that this contact will always receive the quote as well. These contacts can change the company profile, manage contacts and view all projects.

  3. Other contacts - These contacts are added by a main contractor and can be recognized a the hyphen next to the name (see image below). These contacts are visible only to the contractor, who added them. Do you want to remove a linked contact person? Then you can email this to support@12build.com. These contacts cannot change the company profile, cannot manage contacts and only have access on projects he or she is linked to.

Adding and deleting contacts

Want to add a new contact? Then click "Add Contact" and enter the new user's email address (see image below).

For security reasons, this action requires additional authentication. You can see exactly how that works in this article.

Once the contact is added, complete the contact information as necessary. For example, his or her full name, position, direct phone number, profile picture, etc.

In addition, you have the option to set someone as first contact and/or CC recipient. Do you set a contact as CC recipient? Then this person is always in the CC when a request for quotation is sent from the main contractor.

Send password

Has your colleague forgotten his password? For this you use the 'Send password' button. Then the contact will receive an email with a link to create a new password.

You can also easily request a new password yourself through the website, on this page.

Open tasks

It may happen that a general contractor sends a request for quotation to a construction specialist, where the contact person in question was not yet known in our platform or a change proposal has been made. In that case, the first contact of the construction specialist receives an email to review it. Although the quote request is sent to the new contact person right away, it is visible to all contacts except those listed under 'Other contacts'.

When prime contractors add contacts, they appear under the 'Open tasks' heading. Here you are given the opportunity to decide what to do with these submitted contacts.

When you click on 'Review contact', you have 3 options, namely:

  1. Limited Rights - The contact remains in the 'Other Contacts' and can only view the project he or she has been requested for.

  2. All rights - The contact is fully added to the construction specialist's profile and can view and manage everything within the 12Build environment.

  3. Reassign and remove - The contact is removed from the platform and you can reassign another user to the project he or she may be associated with.
